Harding to host Young Adult Author Series professional development workshop

The graduate reading program at Harding University will present its first Young Adult Author Series program of the year Nov. 7-8. This professional development workshop will feature author Gordon Korman.

Korman is a No.1 New York Times bestselling author of more than 75 children’s and young adult books. He has more than 17 million copies of his books in print, which have been translated into 14 different languages. His popular “Swindle” series was also recently featured in a made-for-TV movie by Nickelodeon. He has been publishing books since he was in high school, writing his first when he was only 12.

Korman will discuss his background on Friday and his current work as well as how to better teach students to be writers on Saturday. The series will include a Friday night meal, a Saturday morning continental breakfast, and an author information packet.

Event prices are $125 for one event; $100 for two events; and $75 for each event to attend three or four events. The events will provide graduate credit hours to students and 10 hours of professional development for teachers per event.
