Harding University has been ranked as the No. 2 university in Arkansas by stateuniversity.com, a database for researching colleges and universities across the country.
Harding placed second to University of Arkansas on the website’s 4th annual list of top 2,000 U.S. colleges and universities. Harding moved up one position from the 2011 rankings.
Both University of Arkansas and Harding University placed in the top 12 percent of the 2,000 private and public schools ranked by stateuniversity.com.
Unlike the many other college ranking systems, stateuniversity.com relies only on mathematical statistics and data to determine the ranking. The website collects and compares information from each school such as student test scores, student-to-faculty ratio and cost of attendance.
Harding is the largest private university in Arkansas with 6,815 students and attracts more National Merit Scholars than any other private university in the state.
