Hendrix Senior Awarded Ministry Fellowship

Michaelene Miller ’13 has been awarded a Fund for Theological Education Undergraduate Fellowship.

“I am very proud of Michaelene for receiving this well-deserved scholarship,” said Hendrix Chaplain Rev. Wayne Clark ’84. “She is an exceptional person with many gifts and graces. I look forward to seeing all the ways she will address the injustices in this world and help people find a more fulfilling life.”

Students from across the United States and Canada and from a variety of denominations may apply. Miller, a rising senior from Little Rock, Ark., is a member of the Episcopal Church. The Fellowship is awarded to students who have shown a commitment to the church, whatever denomination that might be, a capacity for leadership, a desire to connect faith with larger issues and an ability to engage with people from different backgrounds.

The nonprofit Fund for Theological Education awards a variety of undergraduate and post-graduate fellowships to people under the age of 35 as part of their efforts to encourage a new generation to become leaders in their churches.
