JBU Receives Grant from Arvest Bank for Health Complex Renovation

John Brown University’s Walton Lifetime Health Complex renovation project will receive a $25,000 gift from Arvest Bank, adding to the $5 million renovation goal.

The renovation, which will be completed this year, includes a new entrance on the North side for better community access, expanded fitness areas with new equipment, updated HVAC system, new locker rooms, and refurbished pool mechanical systems with new decking.

“Arvest is pleased to partner with the university to assist in the renovation of the health complex,” Roger Holroyd, Arvest’s vice president of commercial lending, said. “We have always appreciated how JBU engages with the Siloam Springs’ community. This gift will continue to help provide an excellent exercise facility for community residents at a very reasonable cost.”

“JBU is immensely thankful for the generous support of Arvest Bank in helping promote health and wellness within the community,” Dr. April Moreton, senior director of development, said. “With the new facility updates and added programs, the complex will provide swimming, fitness programs, summer camps and more for not only the JBU family but also the Siloam Springs’ community.”

The Arvest Bank gift is a part of the university’s $125 million Campaign for the Next Century. JBU has currently raised more than $96 million toward the $125 million goal and plans to complete the campaign on JBU’s centennial in 2019.
