Southwest Conference on Christianity and Literature Coming to JBU

The 2014 Southwest Conference on Christianity and Literature will be hosted at John Brown University Nov. 14 – 15. The conference theme is “Has Literature Lost Its Faith?”

The Conference on Christianity and Literature is held annually. Professors from universities across the county will gather in Siloam Springs, Ark. to discuss the connection between faith and literature. Presentations will vary from original poetry to looks at C.S. Lewis, Geoffrey Hill and Diane Glancy

Randy Boyagoda will present a keynote address on Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. Boyagoda is known for literary criticism and writing on religion and American culture. He is an associate professor of American studies at Ryerson University in Toronto. He is the author of four books; two novels, a scholarly monograph on twenty century American literature and a biography of Fr. Richard John Neuhaus. Boyagoda regularly contributes to publications including the New York Times, the Financial Times (UK), the Wall Street Journal, and First Things magazine.
