Williams Homecoming/Parents Day is Saturday

Williams Baptist College is set to host its annual Homecoming/Parent’s Day on Saturday, November 1, when alumni and parents will journey to the campus to participate in a full day of activities.

The day will kick off with an alumni soccer game at 9 a.m., and a Golden Eagles reunion brunch in the president’s home at 10 a.m. The Golden Eagles are those who attended WBC at least 50 years ago.

An alumni baseball game is scheduled for 11 a.m.

Performances by the Williams Singers, WBC’s choir, and The Cast, the college’s Christian drama group, are also slated for 11 a.m.

Thenewly renovated cafeteria will open for lunch at 11 a.m.

Varsity athletic events include the Lady Eagles volleyball team taking on Stephens College, starting at noon, in the Southerland-Mabee Center. The women’s basketball team will then host Philander Smith University at 2 p.m., in the SMC. Homecoming Coronation will take place at halftime of the basketball game.

Current and former Lady Eagles volleyball players are also invited to a reunion, which will be held in the Rose Room of the SMC at 1:30 p.m.

Theday’s events will draw to a close at 7:30 p.m., when the college’s fall drama, entitled “Charley’s Aunt,” is scheduled to begin. The production will be held in the Old Chapel, and admission is $1 for WBC students and $3 for general admission.
