Harding University faculty receive awards for teacher achievement

Eight Harding University faculty members received Teacher Achievement Awards during the annual faculty and staff recognition dinner on campus April 19.

Faculty members Scott Carrell, Wendy Ellis, Denise Fisher, Steven Frye, Cheryl Lee, Randall McLeod, Don Meredith and Nathan Mills are the 2012-13 award recipients.

Carrell is an associate professor in the College of Arts and Humanities. He has been a member of the faculty since 1999. He holds a Bachelor of Music in piano and a Bachelor of Arts in computer science from Southwestern University, a Master of Music in piano performance from University of Illinois at Urbana-Campaign, and a Doctor of Musical Arts in piano performance from University of North Texas at Denton.

Ellis is an associate professor in the Cannon-Clary College of Education. She has been a member of the faculty since 2005. She holds a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, a Master of Education in reading from University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and a Doctor of Education from University of Memphis.
