Dr. Casey elected to lead state business organization

Dr. Rickey Casey, professor of management and business at University of the Ozarks, has been selected as the incoming president of the Arkansas College Teachers of Economics and Business (ACTEB). Casey will begin his one-year term on Oct. 1.

Casey, who served as vice president of the organization this past year, was elected president during the 63rd annual ACTEB meeting, held Sept. 26, on the campus of University of Central Arkansas.

ACTEB was organized in 1950 in the interest of “providing the best possible college level education in economics and business for the people of the state of Arkansas.”

Casey will be the first president from Ozarks to lead the organization.

“It was an honor to be selected president of the ACTEB,” Casey said. “I look forward to working with a great team of officers and members schools to develop an outstanding  program for next year. This is a great opportunity to work as a team to help progress the business and economics education in the state of Arkansas.”

As part of Casey’s election, University of the Ozarks will have the opportunity to host the 2015 ACTEB annual meeting next September. Joel Rossmaier, assistant professor of business and accounting at Ozarks, was elected program chair for 2015.
