Overbay and Harthorn Win WBC Founders Awards

Williams Baptist College has presented its 2016 Founders Awards to Hayley Overbay of Jonesboro and Edward Harthorn of College City. The awards were presented by Dr. Tom Jones, president of WBC, at the college’s annual graduates luncheon Friday, May 6th.

Founders Award winners are selected from each graduating class at Williams. Recipients are chosen by a vote of the faculty and administration as outstanding representatives of the college and its ideals.

Overbay, who had a double-major in psychology and biology, is the daughter of Clarence and Sharon Overbay.

Harthorn, a history major, is the son of Dr. Steven and Cathy Harthorn.

WBC’s commencement exercises were held Saturday, May 7th, in the Southerland-Mabee Center.

Williams is a four-year, liberal arts college at Walnut Ridge.
