Startup Presents Paper at Hemingway Conference

Dr. Kenneth Startup, professor of history at Williams Baptist College, recently presented a paper at the 17th Biennial International Hemingway Society Conference in Oak Park, Ill.  The theme of the conference was, “At Home in Hemingway’s World,” and scholars and students from across the United States and around the world were in attendance.

Startup’s presentation, “All for Chivalry, Santiago and the Silver Chapel,” was based on his decade-long study of the crucial relationship between Ernest Hemingway, the renowned author, and British General Eric Dorman-Smith.

Williams is a four-year, liberal arts college in Walnut Ridge.
